We are inspected by Quality in Tourism on an annual basis to ensure we are maintaining, or improving, our standards. We hold 4 star status with Silver and Breakfast awards as well as our Walkers and Cyclists Welcome accolades. This year VisitEngland have introduced a new award, ROSE - i.e. Recognition of Service Excellence and we were thrilled to find that we have been given one of the very first!
VisitEngland’s Chief Executive James Berresford says:
“Our new ROSE awards focus on areas of excellence that all businesses can aspire to, aiming to provide inspiration to all. Celebrating those who go that extra mile by raising standards, they will no doubt encourage others to raise their game.”
Nominations are triggered following the annual VisitEngland quality assessment visit and observations by the assessor, but other evidence, including online customer reviews are taken into account. The final judging panel also looks for innovation that sets the business apart. This includes facilities or services offered to make the customer’s stay really special.
We’d like to thank everyone who has reviewed us, or written in our Guest book, as without those kind words, we would not have this award.
Crop Circle Conference 29 - 31 July 2016 (It’s not too early to book accommodation is hard to find at that time of year)
Hillworth Park is close to the town centre and plays host to many events throughout the year. To see a copy of their brochure with all their listings, please click here.
We have had many walkers and cyclists here but far fewer horse riders. This year we had a couple of riders staying here whilst visiting The Pewsey Vale Riding Centre, which they rate very highly. The riding centre is less than 6 miles and 15 minutes drive from here in beautiful countryside. They cater for everyone and our guests had jumping lessons and afternoon hacks. If you choose our coffee room, you can often see local horses in the field opposite us.
We have just signed up with Instagram to post photos whilst out & about. Click the icon on the left if you’d like to sign up.
Visit Wiltshire Blogs
Visit Wiltshire has been amassing an impressive number of blogs over the past year so if you need some inspiration for a visit, or indeed, just a good read, check them out here.
The Wessex Ridgeway
2014 saw a surge of interest in The Wessex Ridgeway and we welcomed a number of walkers who were walking all or part of it. If you’d like to base yourself here for the Wiltshire section of the walk, call us to discuss your requirements.
If you’d like to read a very comprehensive and interesting account of this walk, see here - Rambling Pete stayed with us at the start of his long walk.
